Service Advisor Warranty Clerk Apprentice Service Technician

Service Advisor

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a performance driven, customer focused Service Advisor to join the Western Plains Automotive team and deliver an exceptional customer service experience. We are seeking a Service Advisor with unrivalled customer service skills. You will need a proven customer service background and the drive to excel in a professional environment. We have a high performing service department which is proud of our team who manage high customer retention, above national average customer survey scores and promote a positive brand image.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting and serving customers for the service department.
  • Advising customers on vehicle updates regarding repairs or servicing.
  • Follow manufacturer and dealership warranty policies effectively and efficiently.
  • Planning, directing, monitoring and controlling various activities of the WPA Service department, under the guidance of the Service Manager.
  • Coordinating daily service appointments.
  • Accountability to meet individual and team targets.
  • Managing customer expectations.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction is achieved on a daily basis through excellent customer service.
  • Next day appointment preparation.
  • Effectively booking customers vehicle services in via email, phone or face-to-face.
  • Preparing Repair Order and Job Sheets in preparation of customer requests to be executed through the workshop.
  • Promptly invoicing customers.
  • Effectively address customer concerns.

Specific Skills required:

  • Must be able to consistently create a memorable customer experience.
  • The ability to explain the value of vehicle services and repairs.
  • The ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • A genuine care for external, and internal customers.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with strong time management.
  • Previous experience using Era Power DMS (highly regarded).
  • Ability to communicate with internal stakeholders.
  • Current drivers licence is mandatory.

Essential Criteria:

  • A passion for the automotive industry and the brand.
  • The ability to logically solve a problem.
  • Strong and professional attention to detail and communication skills.
  • High level of personal presentation is a must.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to champion the effective and accurate use of dealership DMS (EraPower).
  • Commitment to achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Submitting warranty claims for multiple manufacturers.
  • Reconciling claim payments and closing out repair orders in the in-house system.
  • Keeping the warranty register up to date.
  • Assisting our Service department to process all warranty claims.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong data entry and computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to problem solve and work autonomously.
  • Experience in Warranty processing will be highly regarded, but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and knowledge of vehicles will be a plus!
